Papaya: Reportedly called "the fruit of the angels". An amazingly rich source of the proteolytic enzymes that enable the digestion of protein. Sources of antioxidant nutrients, minerals and fiber. An excellent source of vitamin C, with 82mg per 100g (4oz), and is rich in carotene. Good for many digestive disorders and is excellent for improving poor digestion. Papaya may also help with the symptoms of those suffering from irritable bowel syndrome. It has also been recommended as part of the treatment for cancer. Papaya's fiber is able to bind to cancer-causing toxins in the colon and keep them away from the healthy colon cells.
